Over two weeks in the châteaux country of the Loire, a group of Chinese riders — the youngest five, the oldest thirty — traded the city for the saddle, and rode home with their first FFE Galop certificates.
Mornings began in the arena and ended in the fields. With French coaches guiding each session from nine to five, the riders moved from controlled flatwork to their first confident jumps, learning horse care along the way — the kind of seat that only daily, unhurried practice gives.
Half training, half discovery
Afternoons and rest days opened onto the Loire itself: forest trail rides, a visit to Château de Chambord, and a day at the French National Championship. Horsopia’s role was to make all of it effortless — language, lessons, lodging and logistics handled, so the riders could simply be present for the riding.
The camp caught the attention of the local press: La Nouvelle République featured the group discovering the joys of French equitation.
It is the pattern we return to across every programme: real instruction at the centre, the country around it, and a partner on the ground who makes the distance disappear.
